The Market Pet Shop located at 26 Kilworth Prk Drive in Komoka Ontario is a family owned independent retailer of dog and cat supplies that has been caring for pets since 1955. Owned by longtime local residents, Margaret and Steve Gelinas, the Market Pet Shop has become a focal point in the community for nearly a decade ever since they moved the location of its business from downtown London to be closer to home.
The expertise that Margaret and Steve have developed in their 5 decades worth of combined experience in the industry has become a valuable resource for its customers. The couple are happy and proud to share with their neighbours their extensive knowledge on many aspects of pet ownership and to extend to them a level of personal service that cannot be generally found in larger franchised stores. In addition to maintaining a vast inventory of high quality pet foods and supplies, the Market Pet Shop also provides a professional pet grooming service to keep your dog looking their best. From start to finish your dogs are in good hands with our longtime team member Amanda, giving your pooch the best groom experience and using only the finest products to make them look beautiful. As business owners, Margaret and Steve have always felt that they owe a commitment to the community that they serve. As such, the couple have always tried to be involved in assisting local projects that enhance the quality of life in the area. They volunteer for various causes and have been instrumental in spearheading the Great Canadian EcoFest, and outdoor summer festival held each year in Komoka. They have also devoted a lot of their energies over the years to many animal welfare initiatives. Currently the couple are quite involved and happy to volunteer for IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) plus Paws-United Dog Rescue, on whose board Steve is proud to serve in an executive position. Margaret and Steve are very devoted to both the welfare of animals and to the community in which they live. They are happy that the work they do at the Market Pet Shop enables them to address both of these passions. |
